My kids are currently interested in Easter. It makes sense, they hear about it at daycare, they know we’re having dinner at our neighbor’s house. I reminded them the Easter bunny’s coming.
A couple years ago, I battled with whether or not to do the whole Santa/Easter Bunny/Tooth Fairy thing. I thought of myself as progressive, I wanted to define exactly how my family would conduct themselves. I didn’t want to lie to my kids. That lasted for about 10 seconds after Brooke first got wind of the Santa idea. Her little face was so lit up, I couldn’t lie and tell her Santa doesn’t exist. Of course he exists! It really makes them happy, why did I think being a fun sucker would be cool?
Anyway. So last night we got a jump on the whole Easter bandwagon and painted eggs. We’ll probably dye eggs this Saturday, but last night after bath time I needed to get them doing something other than fighting or begging for candy.
A good time was had by all, and this morning, poor little, confused Leif woke me up asking “Easter Bunny comed last night?” Soon Leify, soon!
